Hamilton city’s latest developments to watch out for

Hamilton is one of the fastest growing cities in New Zealand. The Hamilton council has promised to invest over $2B over the next 10 years in the development of the city, one of the biggest ever capital programmes in NZ. The focus for the council continues to be to make Hamilton a very popular river city and you can see a lot of development coming up along the Waikato River in the next decade.

With the growth of the city as well as its increase in popularity due to many other reasons such as proximity to big cities, arts and culture, the demand for housing has gone up. So much so that there is a big shortage of vacant lands in Hamilton now.

However, there are a number of subdivisions popping up in and around Hamilton city, so keep an eye out for some amazing new locations and good house and land packages. Here is a list of new subdivisions in and around Hamilton:

Greenhill Park

Greenhill Park in Hamilton has over 1,800 lots planned, and several hundred new homes already completed. You have the chance to build your ideal new home in an attractive and convenient location.

Spread out over a massive 136 hectares of freehold farmland, Greenhill Park is the only medium-density development of scale in Hamilton.

The entire suburb has been purposefully designed as a fully functioning neighbourhood, with excellent amenities and plenty of green space for its residents to enjoy.

Ruakura Superhub is a project of national significance to re-imagine growth, prosperity and sustainability for generations to come. At 490 hectares, Ruakura Superhub is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest multi-use developments, equivalent to the size of Auckland’s CBD.

Located at the nexus of the golden triangle between Auckland and Tauranga, the Superhub is anchored by an inland port and will include logistics, industrial, commercial, retail, green space, and homes for approximately 4,500 families. Ruakura is 4km from the Hamilton CBD and broadly equidistant from the cities and seaports of Auckland and Tauranga.

The vision for this emerging neighbourhood is to become a high-quality, vibrant mixed-housing community that residents will love to call home. The development and growth of Peacocke is one of the key focus-areas for Hamilton City Council over the next 10 years.

The Council wants to develop Peacocke as a series of connected city neighbourhoods, a place where residents and their families can enjoy their home and their sense of place within our city.

With a strong focus on protecting the local environment, enhancing urban experiences, and engaging in best-practice design, Peacocke will be more than just a new community. It will be the future of metropolitan living within Hamilton itself.

Jack’s Landing

Modern Living in the Heart of Hamilton! Located in the central suburb of Hamilton Lake, Jack’s Landing is uniquely placed for unparalleled access to both work and recreation within Hamilton’s urban environment.

At the core of the development concept is a desire to create a varied community where families live alongside individuals and retirees. A village that fuses the energy of youth with the wisdom of experience. This will be achieved at Jack’s Landing by offering complimentary but different housing typologies. These will allow for all segments of the community to live alongside one another.

Rototuna Village

Enabling the development of an attractive and sustainable community in the Rototuna growth area.

The village aims to create a vibrant heart for the north-east Hamilton community, where people can meet, play and connect to the outdoors. In 2018, Council set aside funding for the development of the Rototuna community facilities.
