Heyden Farms, Henergy Cage-Free and Rasmusen’s Poultry Farm form Better Eggs
You have probably bought eggs from one of these brands in the past without realising it. But now, the brands have gone through a big brand refresh! Check out their latest website here.
“We’ve been around a while now, since 1937, and have been supplying top-quality eggs to the New Zealand market since then.” – Better Eggs Limted
Rasmusen’s started producing eggs from their Whanganui farm in 1937 whereas Heyden Farms came into the market in 1976 by Peter and Rita van der Heyden. 2020 saw the two brands come together along with Henergy to form Better Eggs Limited.
The three brands together produce caged eggs, free range eggs and barn laid eggs.
The merger comes at a time of difficulty with COVID and many smaller free-range companies have closed their business. The Commerce Commission have approved the merger and also expressed that this merger would not reduce competition.
With the regulatory ban on caged egg production from 2022 and the phasing out of colony eggs from 2025, there is a going to be an increased demand for free range eggs.
The complete range of Better Eggs are now available at major supermarkets across New Zealand.
